We left New England on May 2nd, 2016, to start our westward trek. Our first stop was Niagara Falls. I had been there a few times before, but Josh hadn’t. It also gave us an excuse to enter a new country together. Canada.
The campgrounds became increasingly pricey as we got closer to Niagara Falls, so we decided on a campground one hour away. Looking back, we wish we had stayed closer, since we ended up spending the difference in campground costs on gas to get to and from Niagara Falls.
However, the campground was located in northern New York’s beautiful farmland, which stretched for miles upon miles. We fished on the lake and read by the campfire.
We wanted to experience Niagara Falls the best way possible, so we bought tickets for the Maid Of The Mist. Pulling on our blue ponchos, we boarded the boat and headed towards the powerful falls. The boat ride started slow and calm, but within 10 minutes it was a whole new ball game. Powerful currents, strong winds, and a rainstorm… all created from the amount of water pressure coming over the cliffs. It was awesome, exhilarating, and beautiful.
